Dr. Hari J. Krishna, P.E.

Hari Krishna received his Ph.D. degree in Engineering from Utah State University in 1979, graduating Phi Kappa Phi. He earlier earned a Masters degree from Kansas State University, and a Bachelors degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He has worked in the US and overseas as a registered Professional Engineer and a certified Professional Hydrologist.

Dr. Krishna served as a faculty member at Utah State University, Texas A&M University and at the University of the Virgin Islands where he was also the Director of the Water Resources Research Institute. He later worked for the Texas State Government, and retired as a Senior Engineer.

Hari founded ARCSA in 1994 as a 501(c)(3) organization, and was the first President of the association, dedicating over 10 years of his time to establish ARCSA. He organized the first two National ARCSA conferences in 2003 and 2005. He also served as the Vice President for both the International Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (IRCSA), and the International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA), based in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr. Krishna was also associated briefly with the FAO, United Nations.

During his academic career, Dr. Krishna presented and/or published more than 100 papers. He has been recognized in "Who's Who in Science & Engineering", "American Men & Women of Science", and "Who's Who in America". He was presented the Distinguished Alumnus Award by the College of Engineering at Utah State University in 1997, and the Environmental Excellence Award by the State of Texas in 2010. He was appointed as a Commissioner for Resource Management at the City of Austin in 2011.

Dr. Krishna was honored by Utah State University in 2012 when the Distance Learning Center at the College of Engineering, was named for him and his wife, Laxmi Krishna..
